OVERVIEW & TARGET STUDENT

This class is designed for outdoor-loving students to come together, master wilderness skills, and build social-emotional strength through real-world problem management. This class does not require any prior knowledge in bush-crafting or ability in survival situations, just a want and willingness to learn! Our time together prioritizes hands-on skills, balanced with a generous amount of dedicated time for free, creative play in a forest setting. Through collaborative challenges and natural group dynamics, students will learn to navigate conflict, communicate effectively, and build lasting resilience.

What to Expect:

Bushcraft & Survival Skills: Hands-on instruction in shelter building, tool use, knot tying, and primitive outdoor crafting.

Immersive Forest Play: Dedicated, unstructured time for students to explore, create, and build social bonds in a natural environment.

Real-World Mediation: Guided opportunities to practice active conflict resolution, cooperation, and emotional regulation during group games and challenges.

Workshop Requirements & Prerequisites:

Because this course takes place in a dynamic outdoor environment and requires close team collaboration, the registration process includes:

  1. A formal student application
  2. A brief meet-and-greet session (set up upon application review)
  3. Trial Day (after meet & greet, parental drop-off)

Students must come prepared with a resilient body and mindset, ready to remain outdoors in all weather conditions. This is required—both for pushing through challenging physical learning situations and for developing the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively within a team.

The Fine Print: We teach the "real stuff" in real environments, which means safety and readiness are non-negotiable. We Think Outside reserves the right to withdraw any student from a program if our expert team determines they do not yet have the required skill level or readiness for the terrain. Withdrawal may also occur due to missing essential gear/materials, incomplete payments, or conduct issues. We are committed to a high-quality experience, and that starts with ensuring everyone on the trail is fully prepared.
